Company Overview

Woodhollow Energy Partners (WHE) is a mission-driven EV charging infrastructure developer focused on building equitable access to clean transportation. Our business model is rooted in delivering affordable, reliable, and community-centric EV charging solutions, especially in disadvantaged and underserved areas across the Northeast.

We prioritize incentive-driven projects to minimize CAPEX and OPEX burdens for site hosts, while ensuring that the benefits of electrification are made available to the communities that need them most. WHE is not revenue-focused—we are impact-focused. To maintain affordability and resilience, we self-perform maintenance and utilize cost-controlled, modular infrastructure, reducing long-term service expenses.

Recognizing the infrastructure limitations in remote and lower-income regions, we also deploy battery storage systems to offset grid capacity constraints and enable faster, more efficient charging access. Our custom-designed software platform is intentionally simple, cutting out unnecessary margin stacking and reducing transactional and operational costs. This ensures that our EV charging services remain accessible and financially beneficial for end-users.

Why Affordable Charging is Essential

The current EV infrastructure landscape is increasingly dominated by large, profit-driven corporations whose models are built around high-throughput, high-margin locations. These companies prioritize urban centers, affluent communities, and premium commercial corridors where charging activity translates directly to immediate revenue and ROI. While this strategy supports rapid network growth, it leaves behind entire communities—particularly those in rural, low-income, and disadvantaged areas—where the economics don’t justify traditional infrastructure investment under a revenue-first approach.

Much like the role affordable housing developers play in ensuring shelter access for underserved populations, affordable charging developers like WHE are critical to ensuring energy equity in the clean transportation transition. We serve the markets that the major players overlook—not because they are unimportant, but because they don’t fit a conventional investment profile. These are the same communities where EV adoption could deliver the most financial benefit, due to reduced fuel and maintenance costs, yet lack the infrastructure to realize those advantages.

Large-scale providers are often structured with layers of subcontractors and outsourced maintenance, which drives up costs and limits responsiveness—especially in remote or lower-traffic areas. WHE takes a fundamentally different approach: we build lean, self-sustaining systems supported by our own maintenance teams, purpose-built software, and storage solutions designed for infrastructure-limited environments. This approach ensures not only lower cost of ownership but also greater long-term uptime, control, and community benefit.

Tailored Solutions Over One-Size-Fits-All

Charging, battery storage, and renewable energy integration are not one-size-fits-all challenges. Yet, large corporate providers often rely on standardized, templated infrastructure models to reduce their own overhead and simplify operations—at the cost of local feasibility and impact. This results in suboptimal installations that may not align with a community’s true energy profile, usage needs, or grid limitations.

WHE takes the opposite approach. We deliver custom-tailored infrastructure solutions that meet the actual, on-the-ground needs of the customers and communities we serve. Our focus is on enhancing access through feasibility and common sense, not just maximizing throughput. Whether it’s right-sizing the charger type, integrating solar or storage, or designing around site-specific electrical constraints, our solutions are built with purpose and precision.

Call for Support

As the EV market becomes increasingly viable for lower-income drivers through tax credits and falling vehicle prices, WHE is building the backbone to support this transition—ensuring that energy equity and infrastructure readiness go hand in hand.

To scale our impact and expand our reach, we are actively seeking support through DOE grants and other funding sources. Additional resources will enable us to expand our operations beyond the Northeast and deepen our investment in workforce development, infrastructure resilience, and clean energy integration. This funding will directly empower WHE to bring EV access to the communities that need it most—communities that have been left behind in the national transition to a clean energy economy.
